High-level changes to Medscheme-administered medical schemes for 2020

1. Tariff increases

After due consideration by each individual medical scheme’s Board of Trustees, the following tariff increases will apply to the Medscheme-administered medical schemes listed below. These increases will come into effect as of 1 January 2020.

Note: The abovementioned Scheme rate increases are not applicable where special rates have been agreed upon directly with the medical scheme(s).

Important: Scheme tariffs are VAT inclusive. The tariff increases will also be made available on the Medscheme website before 1 January 2020. Go to www.medscheme.com and log in as a Provider, click on Look up Tool > Scheme Rates > 2020.

2. Scheme option changes effective 1 January 2020

Bonitas Medical Fund
The BonFit option has been renamed to the BonFit Select option from 1 January 2020.

Nedgroup
Nedgroup has changed the name of the Hospital Plan to the Hospital Network Plan for 2020. This plan will now offer one out-of-hospital Family Practitioner consultation. Furthermore, beneficiaries on the Hospital Network Plan may only be admitted to a Nedgroup Hospital Network facility, failure to comply will result in a R7000 co-payment.
