Optical Alliance has pledged a R5000 donation to Russell Nugent’s Extreme Marathon Fundraiser.

UPDATE:

Yesterday was rest day for the runners, so our runner Russel was enjoying the rest and using it to top up his energy stores. He has done 176 km so far and finished 2nd position on day 4. He is improving every day.

I spoke to him and he is feeling well and very confident for a good finish on Friday.

He has conveyed this message to all his supporters and followers:

“The event is tough and a lot of the time it’s a big struggle. But its nothing compared to the struggle Kamagelo has to deal with every day of his life. It’s a humbling experience. The thought of helping out this young man with new corneas certainly motivates me”
