The Jimmy Green Machine was formed in Cape Town some twelve years ago. What is unique about the band is the fact that they are all involved in the optical industry. The group started as a garage band and for many years never played any public gigs. Because the band members now reside in Cape Town, Johannesburg and the Eastern Cape, they commit to one or two gigs per year to keep it going. The band was very well received when it played to an “optometric audience” for the first time last October at the ContactConnect Conference in Randburg.
