Dynamic Vision recently hosted a high value conference for its members and preferred suppliers at Summer Place, Hyde Park. Crucial information pertaining to today’s multi-channel marketing business era, was shared.
Everyone enjoyed the stunning venue, lovely food and the opportunity to catch up with colleagues over a delicious cappuccino.
There are only a handful retail specialists in optics in South Africa. Who could have been a better choice than Mike Elliot, C.E.O. of Edgars and former MD of Sunglass Hut? Mike’s presentation was exceptional. He shared so many helpful tips with our members, explaining the sunglass industry from a retail perspective. He also shared the latest information from London on current retail trends as well as how to promote and sell sunglasses in our practices.
Another speaker was Mariette Frazer a.k.a. ‘’Mrs. Retail” from the College of Business Economics at University of Johannesburg. Interestingly enough, her talk referenced many points made at a past Dynamic Vision conference where delegates from the Disney Institute, based in the United States, were the main speakers.
The concept of Omni Channel Retail technology in Optometry was presented to the group. It was an eye opener to learn that the future shopper will be different. The future shopper has a desire for uniqueness, personalisation and customisation.
Greg Smith, our exclusively contracted Optometry Social Media Guru, presented a most insightful presentation on social media – exactly how it works and the requirements for success.
The topics revolved around strategies to survive and thrive in a modern world and how not to be blindsided by the retail revolution.
Dynamic Vision would like to thank their sponsors at this event:
Seiko, CooperVision, Luxottica, SDM and Hoya.
