NEW YORK—As COVID-19 cases increase exponentially throughout the U.S., jumping from 10 million to 11 million cases nationwide over the past week, according to The COVID Tracking Project, optical sales remained flat for frame units, according to the Jobson COVID-19 Practice Performance Tracker. For the week of Nov. 9-15, optical sales increased 1 index point in three service/product categories (gross revenue, exams/refractions, and lens pairs), and decreased by 1 index point in contact lens sales. Regionally, most service/product categories showed little change in optical sales in most regions, either remaining flat or increasing by 1 index point.
