The environmental pathway and impact of plastic lenses used in Optometry
The study aims to determine the effects on the environment upon disposal of spectacle lenses, contact lenses and associated accessories. The online survey is to establish the Optometrists viewpoint on the current disposal practices of plastic lenses in South Africa, and their recommendations to their patients regarding disposal practices. This study has been ethically approved by the UKZN Humanities and Social Science Research Ethics Committee, Approval Number: HSS/1649/018D.
